Our story

Since 1988, the Rev. Dr. Isaac I. Ihiasota, the founder, president and CEO of Father Isaac's Foundation, Inc., has traveled to Nigeria on free medical mission trips twenty (20) times! The first mission trip was made possible by a gift donation by one of Father Isaac's parishioners to help him pay for his tuition at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. Instead of using the gift donation to pay for his tuition, Father Isaac used it to pay for this first free medical mission trip! He was inspired by the words of Jesus Christ: "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give." (Matthew 10:8, NIV).

On this first free medical mission trip, Father Isaac carried with him several suitcases (excess luggage) full of medical supplies and medicines from World Medical Relief (WMR), Detroit, Michigan (now headquartered in a northern suburb of Detroit, Southfield, Michigan). WMR supports medical missions around the world with surplus medicines and medical supplies.

In the summer of 2017, by accident (by providence, really), Father Isaac Ihiasota met Dr. Julius Nwosu, the president and CEO, Community Healthcare Network Hospital, in New York City! He persuaded and convinced Father Isaac to partner with him on a free medical mission trip. 

In July 2018, Father Isaac and Dr. Nwosu traveled together with Franklin, Jr. Foundation, a New York based organization. Working in collaboration with local healthcare professionals: doctors; nurses; pharmacists; and other healthcare volunteers, they were able to treat about one thousand five hundred (1,500) patients in two (2) days!

In April 2019, Father Isaac founded and formed Father Isaac's Foundation, Inc., USA! 

The foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, non-governmental, and public charity organization. It's dedicated to healing, giving hope, and improving the lives of those in need. The foundation's mission is to provide healthcare free of charge to the poor, the needy, and less privileged, who have no other access to primary healthcare services.

Since 2019, when the foundation was founded, Father Isaac has traveled almost yearly on free medical mission trips. He's traveled with the donations of organizations; and support and prayers of churches and individuals (his friends and parishioners, former and current): who share in his commitment, passion and vision. The foundation has giving hope, saved lives and healed the sick by providing free healthcare to the most vulnerable: the poor, the needy and less privileged. 

The foundation is committed to healing the sick, saving and transforming lives, giving hope to the poor, the needy and the most vulnerable. In addition, improving the healthcare services in the place where it serves in southeastern Nigeria in West Africa.

In January 2020, Father Isaac and Dr. Nwosu traveled on a second medical mission; a third in January 2022; a fourth in January 2023; a fifth in January 2024; a sixth in January 2025; a seventh in January 2026; and planning and hoping for an eighth in January 2027!

They're both very passionate and dedicated to improving the lives of those in need and the most vulnerable. They provide high-quality healthcare, free of charge, to the poor, the needy, and less privileged, who have no access to any primary healthcare services. They're truly committed to providing free healthcare, healing the sick, giving hope, saving and transforming the lives of the people they serve; and making a difference.
