Our History

Father Isaac I. Ihiasota, the foundation's founder, president and CEO, has traveled nineteen (19) times on medical mission trips to Nigeria, since 1988! The first mission trip was made possible by a gift donation to him by one of his parishioners to help pay for his tuition at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. Instead of using the gift to pay for his tuition, Father Isaac used it to pay for this first medical mission trip! He was inspired and motivated by the words of Jesus to go: "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give." (Matthew 10:8, NIV).

On this first medical mission trip, Father Isaac carried with him several excess luggage suitcases full of medical supplies and medicines from World Medical Relief, Inc., (WMR), Detroit, Michigan (now headquartered in Southfield, Michigan). WMR supports medical missions around the world with surplus medicines and medical supplies.

 By accident (by providence, really), Father Isaac met Dr. Julius Nwosu, president and CEO, Community Healthcare Network-NG in New York, in the summer of 2017! Dr. Nwosu persuaded and convinced Father Isaac to partner with him on a free medical mission trip. In July 2018, they traveled together with Franklin, Jr. Foundation, a New York based organization. Working in collaboration with local healthcare professionals: doctors; nurses; pharmacists; and volunteers, they were able to treat about one thousand five hundred (1,500) patients in two (2) days!

In April 2019, Father Isaac founded and formed Father Isaac's Foundation, Inc., USA! 

The foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, non-governmental, and public charity organization. It's dedicated to healing, giving hope, and improving the lives of those in need. The foundation's mission is to provide healthcare free of charge to the poor, the needy, and less privileged, who have no other access to primary healthcare services.

Since the founding of the foundation in 2019, Father Isaac has traveled yearly on free medical missions, with the prayers and support, and donations of organizations, churches, and individuals (his friends and parishioners, former and current): who share in his commitment, passion and vision of giving hope, saving lives and healing the sick, and providing free healthcare, to the poor, the needy, and less privileged.

The foundation heals the sick, saves and transforms lives, gives hope to the poor and needy; and improves healthcare services in the place where it serves in southeastern Nigeria.

In January 2020, Father Isaac and Dr. Nwosu traveled on a second medical mission; a third in January 2021; a fourth in January 2022; a fifth in January 2023; a sixth in January 2024; a seventh in January 2025; and planning for an eighth in January 2026! 

They're both very passionate and dedicated to improving the lives of those in need. They provide high-quality healthcare, free of charge, to the poor, the needy and less privileged, who have no access to primary healthcare services. They're truly committed to providing free healthcare, healing the sick, giving hope, saving and transforming the lives of the people they serve; and making a difference.
